Californian returns to Michigan

Dr. Jonathan VanDenburgh, DDS, was born in the San Francisco bay area of Northern California and raised in Southern California’s Inland Empire, and later Southwest Ohio, he studied at Kettering College of Medical Arts and Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Andrews University with a degree in Fine Arts photography. After working for several years as a photographer for several large commercial companies he returned to college to pursue dentistry. Returning to Southern California with his wife, Amanda, and son, Christian, he attended Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. While studying dentistry he and his wife added two new members to the family, Charles and Vivian.

Professional Achievements

Dr. VanDenburgh graduated in the top of his class with awards from the American Association of Orofacial Pain and membership in the National Dental Honors Society. For the past several years he has been working at a non-profit organization providing dental care to the underserved in Southwest Michigan. He has spent nearly every summer in Saint Joseph for the last two decades sailing and enjoying time with family. He is extremely excited to call Saint Joseph and South Haven his new year round home where he can enjoy more time with his family. .


Dr. VanDenburgh treats every patient with empathy and compassion. His goal is to redefine the dental experience to one without apprehension or fear. Countless patients have told him when they once feared going to the dentist they now look forward to it. He enjoys treating the whole family including children with whom he relates well.  He believes seeing your dental family should be a fun, pleasant experience where you look forward to a warm welcome, conversation, and friendship.
